Warm air coming in?

Hey guys

Is this a cooling problem that I might have?
this is the problem.. well not really a problem, but I want to know what it is...

ok,
ill be driving sometimes lets say its kinda cold, I get hot air that comes in threw the vents. Like the small vents not the big ones.
Its odd.. hard to explain, if anyone has an idea of what im talking about.. it would be cool.

thanks cya

If you're getting hot air coming from the Small Vents in the Interior of your car, I would check the warm-cool selector that opens and closes the door to the heater box. It sounds like the door to the heater core is open (or partially open) and that's why you're feeling the heat.

Did you check the thread I linked too above? One guy wondered why he got a lot of hot air inside the car and I juggested that his car (depending on model and year) may have been one bult not long ago which were made to have a continuous airflow through the interior to prevent exhaust gas from collecting. Maybe yours is too.

I don't know which cars have the continuous airflow, but as far as needing the air dam, I'm sure it does need it. At expressway speeds the engine is making a lot of heat and the fans turn off (they couldn't keep up with the fast airflow anyway), so the air dam is the main source of pressure to push cooling air through the radiator and engine compartment.
