Here's some pictures of my "Perma Cool" 16" 2950 cfm electric fan part# 771-19115 $88.99 from Jeg's. It's installed as a Puller fan.

Here's a side by side comparison of the stock 16" and the Perma Cool 16" fans.

I installed the "Perma Cool fan" at the same time I installed the "Stewart Stage 1" water pump. These two cooling components are very effective (especially on days over 100*) along with a 180* thermostat and a 70%-30% coolant mix. I used to run 100% water with two bottles of Redline Water Wetter but, never noticed any real improvements. The cost of the fan and water pump was $202.88 but that also includes the $35.95 2nd day air shipping charge for the Stewart pump since I needed it quickly.

That's cool (literally)
.
I think I may do that. Whenever my fan kicks on now, whether the A/C is on, or IF it gets warm (happens very rarely) then the voltage gauge drops quite a bit at idle, along with the headlights dimming. I suspect the stock unit is getting old and the brushes/diodes/caps are on their last leg.
I need to replace the fan motor anyway, so if I do, it might as well be with a quality piece like that. Plus the $$$ is good enough to justify spending the money for the better unit (at least as far as my wife needs to know
).
Thanks for the pics and info. Guess I'll be calling Jeg's in a few days (paycheck day
).

It's been about 100* here lately and since I put in the Stewart waterpump and Perma Cool fan my car engine has been running well but, in stop and go traffic, the air conditioned air feels cool instead of COLD. I thought instead of getting the 16" fan, I should of bought two 12" Perma Cool fans and wired one to an adjustable thermostat so it'll really pull air through the condensor. Still thinking about it.

I'm using two of the Perma-Cool 14" aluminum fans.
(no shroud) With Stewart pump and 160 degree stat, it never gets above 180. (my chip requires the 160 stat)

What REALLY work on your AC is a small fan mounted in front of the rad, directly on the AC condenser. I went to checker and bought like a small 10 inch fan and mounted it up front between the two X bars and the AC condenser. My AC gets ICE COLD now instead of just being cool. Try it... those fans are pretty cheap.

When I'm driving on the freeway the AC is COLD. It's only when I get into stop and go traffic on a 100* day and there's less air flow that the AC feels only cool. I'd rather get two 14""Perma Cool" High CFM fans because it would pull more air through more surface area of both the Radiator and AC Condensor.
