Performance value of cold gasoline??

Who here thinks that colder gas injected into the motor would provide more power?

My gas line comes within 1/2" of my header collector, after a run at the track the gas is just starting to boil. so I'm considering so methods to cool my fuel lines down between runs..
I wonder if super cooled gasoline would provide more power though... anyone know?

well usualy gas coolers are only recomended for carbed cars or where vapor lock is a big problem (i think vapor lock is a bigger problem on carbed cars??)

i have too thought about adding a fuel cooler to help cool it down. Try doing a search i know there is some good info out there and some reason that convinced me that i didnt need a fuel cooler, but i don't remember right now. But if ur fuel is boiling then yes i would say u at least need a fuel cooler..

and as far as the performance aspect.. i would think cooler fuel might not give as much a chance to detonation and would keep ur fuel pump living longer..

A cheap trick to keeping your gas lines cooler in the engine bay is to wrap them in aluminum foil. This protects them from the heat of the engine and keeps the gas temperature down.

Cold gas doesn't atomize well.

cars seem to run fine in the dead of winter...

I'm thinking colder gas injected into a hot motor would atomize better.. what happens to a gas when it's heated? it expands.. cold gas naturally wanting to expand during the intake charge=better atomization?

You said "supercooled", to me that implies a liquid nitrogen bath or something.

I don't think cooling the gas is a way to get any more power. Maybe you're kind of confusing gasoline with the gaseous state of matter. When fuel is injected it's not a gas, it's an aerosol of fine liquid droplets. Cooling a liquid doesn't make it any denser.

I had boiling gasoline after shuting down, because the new headers were too near the new gas line. So I re routed the line because when the gas boiled, it drove the fuel pump backwards like a turbin and filled the tank with hot gasoline.

This might be bs, but as soon as the gasoline is out of a fuel injector nnozzle, you want it to vaporize, so hot gasoline in a high pressure sysem might be better. But you need cold air to get the most power.. So I vote for hot gas and cold air.

But in a carburettor,, the gas is at atmospherric pressure in the float chamber, so if it is hot it might valorize in the jets, and then you'd run lean and might melt the pistons. Just a thought.

Can we get a spell checker going here please??
