Griffin rad + Fans + stewart pump?
from what i read on these boards, since i want to re-do my whole system i would want a Stewart water pump, a Griffin Radiator, and Aftermarket cooling fan (s).
the problem is know one has nailed down the specifics, i want a big radiator with fittings for my heating and draining, i want aftermarket fans, but i don't know how much to expect to pay for them, or if i can get them in a combo from griffin. At the griffin website they don't post prices. And, which stewart pump do i get? the short or the long? what do our cars use? the hand polished one looks nice.

Here's what you want/need.
Summit racing, dual 1" core universal fit griffin race radiator. $179
http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=gri-1-25272-x
You could run the bigger dual 1.25" core version but it would require custom upper and lower radiator brackets and it's $60 more. The dual 1" core version (above) can use your stock mounts with very little modification.
Spal dual 11" high performance fans. $235
http://www.carshopinc.com/product_in...51071/30100846
Stewart stage 1 water pump (long). $69
Part number depends on weather you are full serpentine or V-belts (check your year).

You will need hardware to mount the Spal fans.
The Griffin has provisons for overflow hose.
Griffin does make a direct fit version with heater return and trans cooler but it is almost as much as Be Cool's direct fit radiator.

I used the Griffin 31"x19" with 1-1/4" tubes. I did have to cut sheetmetal on the bottom of the radiator support to get it to fit.
I also made a new top cover out of aluminum.
Like John said above, just get a hose fitting to replace the plug in the water pump and connect the heater hose there.
Performance Stainless has some really nice fittings, so that's what I used.

Stewart pumps are great and I've had one for a couple years with no problems.
Spal fans are some of the best as well, so I'll second all the above recommendations.

thats a great idea, there is a closed port that is unused on the water pump? which fitting part # is the one that fits or that you reccomend. also i want to get those fan switches from hayden that operate individuly from the stock fan control, but the article says to get them at pep boys and there are none around here, so do any of you guys know off hand where to get them? and do the fans come with the required hardware to install them?

I had tocut my rad support on the drivers side top to fit it. Do you make aluminum covers? Someone here was going to but they lost the shop to work out of. I would pay to have one made....

i was asking which fitting would fit on the water pump, since the pump hasn't arrived yet it would be nice to get both at once

You should not have to cut sheetmetal at all for either version.

my friend came over today and showed me his setup,he used a fan setup that he took out of an ls1 car and he made a bracket out of aluminum to hold the radiator in place.the good thing is the fans are shrouded and recessed so the ist a clearance issue and they plug into out existing harness without modification.i think im gonna try that.

thats cool that it practically drops in, but is that radiator practically the same size as an OEM unit?? or is 1" bigger than our OEM 2 core radiators?

Wow these spaz fans are way more powerfull than i expected, how did you guys mount them? the parts stores don't have the mounting things, and i don't wanna resort to zip ties.
