rad cap crap
This is probably the dumbest thing I'll ever ask on here. I just put in a new thermostat in the GTA and wanted to check the coolant level in the rad. I don't think I can get the rad cap off without breaking something. The damn thing just won't come off.
Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to work with
grrrrrrrrrr
Any ideas are appreciated. Hammer? Crow Bar?

It's not moving easily. I'll get back to it tomorrow and see if it helps.
Thanks.

I'm going back out tomorrow to finish working on the car. I probably didn't press down hard enough or I'm just too used to my other cars rad cap.
Everything's been breaking lately on the GTA so it may have me spooked.

alright I got the cap off today. fully clockwise and a hard press did it
They should have designed those a little bit better and not place them next to a freaking clamp :|
Oh yeah check for another thread because I've got another problem.

mine's is a punk too and i've replaced it more than once, i think its the radiator and not the cap that makes it a PITA. and the way i usually check my coolant level is with the overflow, whenever i change coolant i fill up the radiator and the resivior all the way and when the resivior gets sucked dry i just fill it up till it stays at the hot line constantly. works for me i guess.

I keep my overflow to the full hot mark. Not that it matters since I've got oil crusties floating around in the resevoir. My cars going to hell I think.
And PITA is right because I pressed so hard that I slipped a bit and cut my finger on a hose clamp. Started pissing blood everywhere
Gotta love F-bodies for their try to be high tech design.
