Making my electrical fans works
I have been looking at relay kits to hook up my electric fans after my engine swap. I dumped the 305 tbi in favor of a 355 and a carb.
My question is, instead of spending all this cash on the relay, sending unit, and harness. Could I just use the stock relay and buy the temp sending unit? Did the fans even have a relay in stock form? Would something like this even work?

I don't know if the following link will help or not, but you might consider this wiring configuration:

By the way, the stock fans have a relay.

That gives me an idea. I also found relays at Radio Shack for $6. They are the 12v/30amp automotive. I found the sending switch with the temp range I want.I have plenty of wire considering most of the ECM stuff is out.
The wiring from the A/C pressure switch is to allow the fans to come on when the A/C is turned on right?
How much did you spend on all of your parts?

You're correct about the A/C high pressure switch. I'm unsure about cost: I bought parts over last winter in order to be ready over the summer--I'm guessing $200-$250.
By the way, does your cruise control (if you have it) work?

It worked when I pulled the 305 out. I'm still in the process of sorting out the wiring harness. I read a post somewhere on here from someone that got it to work. I tried to search for it but didn't have much luck. It was something like regrounding the VSS box or something to that effect.
Was your cost including fans?

I just found it. The thread wasn't exactly what I thought it was (auto to manual) but since someone had already looked at the system maybe they would know.

I asked about cruise because I'm the "someone that got it to work" after my own motor swap and ECM delete
. Here's the thread:

I didn't buy the fans news. They were bone yard finds as was the A/C high-pressure hard line.

Well I'll be damned
It had been a while, that's probably why I confused the links.

Sorry, I didn't notice the electronic speedo. You might do a search as I believe some members are using SGI (?) box.
