To those who don't have an airdam

I bought my car and it did not have an airdam. My 305 TBI would run so hot it was depressing. It would stay at 220 and not move and it even ran bad.

So I did some research, bought an airdam and a Hypertech fan switch and thermostat. I never thought it was possible but the car NEVER, I mean Never, gets over 170-180. Thats a 50 degree difference my friends.

So that was my testimony to tell everyone, GET AN AIRDAM!!

YOUR CAR NEEDS IT!!!!

I am not argueing or anything, I believe in it too, however was your car getting to 220 on the highway or around town. Never the less I also remeber reading somewhere that 220 was factory spec for operating temperature. Someone correct me on that?

You mean when a radiator has no airflow then that's bad for the car?

And I somehow doubt 220* is operating temp. Its probably closer to 190-200*.

Doesn't the fan kick on at around 220 ? Mine was climbing up to 230 and up before I got the airdam.

If you have a 305 TBI the you understand the problem. 220 is right about operating temp for these engines if you do not have an airdam. Still way too hot for me. The Hypertech Fan switch and thermostat really helped mine out. The 305's are notorious for overheating.

Cooling

I added a Bottle of WATER WETTER to my radiator in my 350 and the Engine Coolant temp on Average is 7 degrees Cooler . I noticed my Average Coolant Temp when the Car is warm is ALWAYS Around the 210 degree range most of the Time , and even in the Summer Months too . It's a GOOD Product .

Can one use regular radiator flush or will the stock radiator get messed up, due to the plastic tanks ?

Radiator Flush .

I use ZEREX Radiator SUPER FLUSH in my Car . A 10 Minute Flush that gets alot of Contaminates out of your Radiator . I would also suggest after you Flush the Engine , Run a Garden Hose through the Radiator Mouth with the **** Valve Open until you see CLEAR Water comming out the Othere End . Hope that Helps Dude .....
