Ac removal
Im contaplating on removing the ac on the '91 Z28. (serpentine)
The way i picture it (could be wrong tho ..), i can remove the pulley on the air pump and ac, then access the bolts and remove the pump and block the opening with fittings, and get a chorter belt.
or I cound remove the ac pump and mount the alternator in its place ?
The cars gonna be scraped, im just prepping the engine for a transplant.
tnx for any help

You could be as bad as me, I didnt discharge the system but I did manage to get the entire AC system out in 1 piece without breaking open the system.
If all else fails, use a hacksaw!

Mine happend to get a hole somewhere, and leaked it all out, and I didnt notice untill a year or two later when I started driving the car again. Oh well, more weight out of the car.

Actually it doesnt take long when you have no motor in the way and the upper half of the AC box in the engine bay is broken off. System still had a charge in it .

along the line somewhere the is a vaulve, much like a tyre vaulve. undo it and use a small screwdriver to push the center of the vaulve. there will be a hissing noise, again like a tyre, and an expell of the gas. i think there are two more vaulves , one on the compressor the other on the refridgerator. do the same on them. when all is clear you can disconnect the systyem.
