Fan relay
Ok I'am a bit confused. I searched the forums, I have a single fan setup 86 sport coupe, Do I have 1 relay or 2? I know I have a realy next to radiator Which I replaced a few months back and my fan now comes on, But what I want to do is to splice into the green/wht wire I heqard so much about, but I dont see this wire on the realay next to the rad. I read there is another realay on the drivers firewall? Would I have this realay too? if so not sure what I'am looking for. So if anyone has pics Please post them as this will help me out.
Thanks guys

I'm not too sure about camaro's...we just yanked the 2.8 in my girlfriends camaro and most of the wiriing...including the fan wiring. and they havn't existed in my 84 or 89 TA for a while now. but there should be a relay for your fan on your firewall behind the brake booster.

Axle/Gears: huh?? guessing stock.
The relay you want has 4 wires coming out of it, red, green/white, thick black /red, and whitish tan.(mine might just be dirty.....

My question is . Do I have 2 relays for a single fan? I know I have 1 mounted by the Rad, it has 5 wires Blue,Solid Green,Tan/blk,Black/wht,Solid black
Now you guys say I should have 1 with 4 wires ? I can not find this relay in my car, I looked by the brake booster and see nothing like that, Would it be located anywhere else? And if you have pics it would help a whole lot.

It should be one of the 3 or 4 mounted by the booster. maybe could've been moved by a previous owner. but you should only have one relay. and the stock location should be by the booster.

here is my setup! Shows the relay next to Rad, But most are telling it's by the brake booster, with those color's of wires! Which I do not see!

that's the same fan setup in my 84 TA. before the relay was removed it was by the booster. at this point your best bet may be to trace the wiring until you find all the points of origin.

I figured it out! I do have 2 relays for the single fan Dunno why maybe someone here can elaborate as to why. But it was the 1 next to the brake booster, and the wire color was a solid green no stripes and had 5 wires ,this is the original stock wiring.
Reason for wanting to do this is ,is so I can have my fan run constantly due to it blow's warm air inside the cab if I turn the A/C on My A/C doesn't work so I get nothing but warm air on my way home. This will hold me over untill I get my A/C redone in a few months.
Thanks guys for your help.

I belive the second relay is for the a/c clutch when you request a/c the relay sends signals to the clutch , and ecm, and to the ground signal on the other relay to turn it on. dont quote me on this but im pretty sure this is howit works.
