This was unusual but kind of funny.

So i started leeking coolant out of the thermostat hosing and i knew it was the gasket so i went and got gasket and gasket sealter and i figured for 8 bucks id do the thermostat while im in there. so i pop it off and it dosent have any thermostat in it at all. Suprised me because i never had temp. difficulty or anything. Just somthing weird i thoughti would throw up here.

Not having a thermostat means your coolant is always flowing, it just takes longer for your car to heat up.

Yea i iknow thats what i ment by i never noticed my temp being weird it allways warmed up faily quickly but it was also summer and now it gettin colder i problably would have noticed it if i hadent noticed it untill mid winter or somthing. but i jsut thought it was funny that it didnt have one at all.

thats all right i did not think that my car had one in it cause it always took along time for it to heat up... i opened it up today and it had one stuck open luckily for me it was stuck open and not closed... i threw it in the freezer just to see if it would close at all... it never did just kind of funny to me i guess thats y i never had to turn my fan on ever...

yea see i would have to run my fan. so my 305 must produce a **** load of heat lol.

Without a thermostat in your car you change the pressure the system runs under, it can actually cause your car to overheat. This happened to an 86 Pontiac I had. With no thermostat the system didn't hold pressure and boiled over without being technically overheated, got a hot spot in the head and warped a valve.
