Upper Radiator Hose Bracket

I was looking over the car I just got and noticed that the upper radiator hose is rubbing on the belt. It is not actually touching but there is a notch on the underside so I assume it is hitting the belt when I go over bumps. It also looks like there is a spot for a brackt to bolt up on the air intake that would hold the hose off the belt. Am I right about this? If I am does anyone know where I could get one?

Re: Upper Radiator Hose Bracket

Mentioning year/motor is often helpful. The upper shroud for electric fans has a mounting provision for the hose. The hose itself has a ribbed, plastic protector. Note the pic:

Re: Upper Radiator Hose Bracket

where is your shroud ? the hose lays on the shroud and keeps it far far away from the moving parts of the engine

Re: Upper Radiator Hose Bracket

The engine is from a 1990. It's a 350 tpi but is installed in an '86 that came with a 305 (tbi I think it was). I have the upper radiator mount:

But that's not enough to hold it off the belt. What I'm looking for looks like it should bolt up here:

Here's how it looks all together. Is it possible that the hose is on backwards?

Re: Upper Radiator Hose Bracket

I'd guess that the hose or the thermo housing is incorrect.

Re: Upper Radiator Hose Bracket

any idea of the P/N for the hose or housing? or any idea what bolts into those holes on the bottom of the intake hose?

Re: Upper Radiator Hose Bracket

Dunno if you ever found this out, but there is a little metal bracket that holds the hose that bolts in right there on the serpentine bracket.

Your hose doesn't look right regardless though. And the only source for the piece might as well be a junkyard with a 88+ V8. I think the trucks used the same passenger side bracket.
