Non AC Box
Yes I tried to search but none directly answered my question that I read.
I bought my car, with no center console(aka no controls) and no heater box under the hood.
I replaced my heater core, trying to piece the heater compontets back togehter, these michigan winters can be bad!
Do I just get a Non AC heater box and find some controls in a junkyard and hook the cable up to the door and i got heat?

Re: Non AC Box
The entire duct system behind the dash is completely different between A/C and non-A/C cars.

Re: Non AC Box
so swapping in this box is a lot more work?I just need Heat, I have no AC stuff on my engine.
Can an AC heater box still fit in my engine bay with headers?
do you have any suggestions on how should I tackle this problem?

Re: Non AC Box
It depends how complete a swap you want to do. If you want the car just like a non-AC car, you need to swap the entire dash. If that doesn't matter, you can just put the A/C controls in.
Re: Non AC Box
if needed i striped an 83 z28 that had factory A/C delete ill take pics of the heat box and blower box tomorrow. i dont have the controls. iam planing on useing just the blower box to move air around in the car.

So the AC heater box can fit, and I just hook up the AC/Heat controls and thats it?
I just need heat the simplest and easiest way
or did you say, I put a non Ac box in and hook up the controls?

Re: Non AC Box
Either heater box will fit on the engine side of the wiring. I believe the motor wiring between the two is slightly different, but nothing major.
In the interior, the quickest and easiest will be to just put the controls back in for whichever duct system you still have.

Re: Non AC Box

Ill begin my search now for a non ac box and some heater controls from an AC car. The wiring will be easy to figure out.
Thanks a lot!
