be cool radiator question (size, 91 transam gta 502 ram jet)

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Will this radiator work fine with 502 ram jet with electric OEM fans. (dual)

Will this radiator fit in? Did I picked the right dimensions?

Re: be cool radiator question (size, 91 transam gta 502 ram jet)

Been my experience when you start getting into a thicker
core radiator you are usually going to have to do some
upper and lower bracket alterations.

Then take into account running a BB and clearance
between accesories and fan or fans.

I'm running the big Griffin in mine that was suppose to
be a drop in with a SB, but wasn't
But I knew that going in.
Lots of them out there, A little planning, measuring and
some fabbing and won't be a problem.

Re: be cool radiator question (size, 91 transam gta 502 ram jet)

thank you for your reply,

I did not decided what brackets should I get, but I have to... Because I live in Europe, it is very hard to get the parts fast. I will be in US in a week and I will buy most of the part in 3 months (big parts too) I need to determine what kind of "everything" should I get...

Re: be cool radiator question (size, 91 transam gta 502 ram jet)

Sounds like the big parts your talking about might be
a (502)

Truck 3 or 4 core radiator lower rubber saddles work for
the bottom and easy to fab something for the top.

If running AC with that setup going to get tight.
Grilldenser, ect.
Looking at that radiator, noticed that it only had 1'' tubes
in it. My Griffin is running 1.25" tubes and about $100.00
less. Since your going BB, every little bit helps.
Also make sure it has the heater hose nipple on it if your
running a heater.

What part of Europe??

Re: be cool radiator question (size, 91 transam gta 502 ram jet)

I originally had ordered the Griffin "direct fit" and it did not fit at all in my 1991 formula. It was 1/8" too wide to fit

I did buy the Be Cool version and it slid right in. No fitment problems at all. The locator tabs on the bottom and top are welded on with an offset so you do not need to alter the lower radiator support at all. Stock fans fit fine. On the top radiator support, they provide a piece of aluminum that you bolt to the plastic cover to extend it about an inch or so.

It really is a bolt in raditator made for our cars. A little pricey, but fits fine.

Yes, that one should work just fine. It's the one I have in my 84 T/A after running hot down in the southern mountains of New Mexico. I rarely, RARELY go very much over the first tick-mark left of center on the temp gauge. Before I put it in I normally ran right at the half-way mark if not a little over. I also added a jet fan-switch that turns the fan on at 185 degrees (85c) instead of the stock 225 (107c). Oh yeah, aside from having to put some small spacers on the lower single-fan mounting points, it was truly a drop-in bolt-on application.
