Fan relay
I cant find it in search, but im not the best at searching
When i ground the green/white wire from the relay on the driverside firewall the fan doesn't come on (also has an orange wire going to it and i cant remember the others), Is this the right green/white wire to ground? or a bad relay? (the fan does work)
Fans come on at 238 or so but trying to find the wire to install a switch like in ****** fan control to cut them on cooler.

Re: Fan relay
the relay should be labeled with the numbers 85, 86, 87, 87A, 30. 85 and 86 will be signal and ground circuit (small gauge wire) 87 and 30 are the fan power circuit (large gauge wire). if you jumper 87 and 30 the fan should come on if all else is good.

Re: Fan relay
Fan relay will have a large guage wire that is black with a red stripe. Fuel pump relay often in same location and looks identical, but will not have that black/red wire.

Re: Fan relay
Neither the relay by the battery or the relay by the brakebooster have a large black wire with a red stripe.
The wiring isn't hacked up or anything, looks like its never been touched but i still cant find this thing.

Re: Fan relay
Sorry - wish I was there to help. Every wiring diag I look at for every year shows the black with red wire to the relay, and that's how I always found it.

Re: Fan relay
The fan relay only has four wires going to it. The fat red wire is the positive feed from the battery through a fusible link. The skinny brown with white stripe wire is power with key on. The green with white stripe wire is the one that the fan temp switch or the AC on grounds to send power back on the fat black with red stripe wire to the fan to turn it on. Yes, grounding that green with white stripe wire with the key on should make your fan run if the relay, fan, and wires to the fan are OK The wires get dirty and are sometimes hard to identify, but that's what it came with
