A/C Compressor Kicking in and out

Please help me figure out what the problem is. The compressor kicks in and then back out over and over when I turn the a/c or defrost on.

Low freon level will cause your problem

Re: A/C Compressor Kicking in and out

The compressor is supposed to kick in and out - it will never run solid. But if it's kicking in/out several times in several seconds, low on freon. If it's only kicking in/out 2-3 times a minute, that's normal.

Re: A/C Compressor Kicking in and out

Mine used to do this all the time robbing me of the little power I have. So, I decided to get a delete pulley and remove it completely. That was the best decision I EVER made. Where I live I can roll without A/C most of the time so it is an option.

Re: A/C Compressor Kicking in and out

Well it clicks in and one second later kicks off. then a second later it starts all over again. Im pretty sure its the compressor and clutch thats the problem cuz i take a volt meter to the wire connections and it stays constant

You should have the system de-pressurized first before releasing Freon into the atmosphere. You will need an A/C delete pulley as well. I didn't get the A/C Delete Box yet so I still have some pieces left on my firewall and I plugged all the outlets. Simply follow all the hoses from the compressor and condenser.

Defroster, Yes! The dry a/c air will defrost the windows faster than with just miost heat. If the air is cold outside it will cut on and off. During the hot months it will stay on.

Re: A/C Compressor Kicking in and out

If you removed all the AC stuff and got a AC delete plate you could keep the heater. Or leave the AC box the engine bay and Just remove the lines and compressor route belts as needed. But when you remove the AC defrosting the windshield becomes a problem especially on a cold rainy night. Good luck
