Worth removing ac?
Worth removing ac?
I just bought a project 91 Camaro, and let's face it it needs work. I only plan on driving this car during the summer months, and since it has t tops, I'm thinking of selling the air conditioning components for some money towards the engine, sheet metal and paint needed. I'm not sure how much I could get for the entire system, or if there is even a demand. Hell, I don't know if the system works. But assuming it's in working condition, any idea what the parts are worth? I'm not trying to sell anything in this thread, just trying to find out if this would be worth it, and howmuch money I could potentially raise for my project. Also, are these parts compatible with any other gm vehicles? Thanks a ton

Haha damn so I guess it'd be more worth it for freeing up some power than making money. Unless you still want to throw down that 500 yen!! Haha, thanks for the response

The AC doesnt use up any power unless its actually turned on. You get the same results from just turning the switch off, as you do from removing it.

Yea, I don't know what planet I was on but I wasnt thinking about compressor clutches at the time haha. Well, I better hope that the ac works then! If not, I'm not going to bother fixing it. Thanks for the input guys

Thanks for the input rockyd. definitely looks cleaner in the engine bay, and I like that. Next time I fire that thing up I'll have to see if it blows cold. If not it's going in the trash with my tbi setup haha
