stock dual fans stopped working

first i had a fuse blow (guy who i bought it from had fuel pump, ignition, and full time stock fans going to one 20A fuse) it turned out their was a short in the fans and we tried to manually start them and they didnt so i just bought some new stock dual fans waiting on them. i have direct fans so they turn on when the car starts. any idea what happened? did the short kill the fans, running them direct? and what should i get if im not satisfied with my stock replacement?

also you should know that their are wires hanging everywhere that dont go anywhere ( disconnected grounds and random wires, speaker wire as grounds)

Re: stock dual fans stopped working

Sounds like a hack job. I"d do a search on the site here and get a good HELM service manual along with a good set of wire repair tools to start.
