Fan Size
Hi Everyone
Looking to put some aftermarket pusher fans on my stock radiator and was wondering what sizes everyone is using. I'm looking to run a dual fan also.
Thanks in advance for the help

Re: Fan Size
I had a 14 and it fit fairly tight on my last combo that I tried before my current one. A 16 might fit but a 14 will probably do the job. get a fan with a lot of amps and thats reversible so you can use it somewhere else if you change your mind. I would go at least 2500cfm or bigger so it will work effectively. You can take gasket maker and line the edge of the fan with it so it will not rub a hole in anything due to vibrations and anchor it against the core of your condensor. It will also be more effective if its against the core with no air loss around the edge of the fan like the dual fans experience on our cars. I recently got a taurus fan and my cooling issues are gone. If you go the taurus fan route get one from 91-95 3.8l 2 speed motor. They pull about 4000cfm and have to have a 40 amp fuse. I blew 3 30amp fuses before I finally went and got a 40. They also have a factory resettable fuse that plugs into the factory harness that I found and it works great. You will be glad you went this route. I have been trying to cool my 11.5 to 1 solid roller 406 sbc for years and this does the trick. I live in Arkansas and it gets Africa hot here and cooling is very hard to deal with.

Re: Fan Size
Just much more room to mount and muck around with behind the rad there, instead of all cramped up in front of it. Otherwise airflow is airflow.

Re: Fan Size
Fans built in a shroud work better unless you mount them onto the core. The factory dual fans get a lot of leakage from the gap away from the core. It has been a heavy duty option on some vehicles to have a pusher fan like on taxi cabs etc so pushers do work. I have tried a pusher on our cars and it did work a little better than without. Not much room though and you will need a skinny fan to fit. I had a 14 pusher mounted direct on the condensor to a switch and in town it cooled the car quicker. I now have a taurus fan without the pusher and the taurus fan works better than my old fan set-up with the pusher. I will probably add the pusher back when I get time. This summer I have tried many many combos and the taurus fan is by leaps and bounds the best fan and cooled my car better than any combo ever. All other fans pale in comparison. You got to have big wiring and a 40 amp fuse though. Another member said that the LS1 fans were the best and I have been researching them but so far taurus is the best.
