89 bird runs hot
i have had overheating problems with this car since switching to carburated system. it has a new waterpump, new radiator, new hoses. have tried removing the thermostat, putting a new one in, at the moment it has a thermostat "shell" in it. it does seem to run a little cooler this way. I have the fans wired on all of the time. When I made the switch to carb, I had to put an aftermarket module on it to tell the fan when to come on (the obc is gone). It is hot outside (mid 90's), but still should cool a little. It also does not start well after it warms up. It "clicks" like it would when battery is low.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i did find that my temp guage was off some, i put a mechanical guage in. it still wants to heat up to 200. even goes a bit higher in traffic. seems like i have tried about everything. is there any water pumps available that could move more water? maybe even a 3 or 4 core radiator?
the clicking does sound like it comes from the starter - i just put a new cable from battery to starter and no help. i even added another ground strap from engine to frame.

i went online and ordered an after market water pump...spent $200 on it and still doesnt help with overheating issues. what do u spark plugs look like? it may be cause by fuel isses too. when i changed my fuel pump it lowered the heat by 20 degrees. u can also add an additvie to help reduce it another 20 degrees...and u may need a new starter if its making clicking sounds that what they do when there going out

Ok try cleaning your radiator fins, take a garden hose and wash em good. Check for radiator hose collapsing when it gets hot.

radiator is new , maybe a month old, hoses are new, i did look for collapsing, found nothing there. i flushed the one for the air, it didnt seem blocked.
motor was just rebuilt in february. plugs were new then, as was the starter.
