Cooling Fan control
i read a post that stock fan controller turns on @ 220 degrees for pollution control. There was mention of after market switches set for 180 or 185 degrees. Where can I find manufacturer / model info?

Post #20 the sw555 is a good choice not to your specs though

4x Pack of them for $30. Simply wire in a relay and go.
They seem reliable as long as you don't pour salty water on the plugs (don't ask how I know)

When you get tired of messing with the switch, try a Dakota Digital PAC-2750 fan controller. I tried no less than half a dozen different brand fan switches on my wife's 1987 Camaro. None of them would turn the fans on / off at consistent temperatures. I had a PAC-2750 on my 1985 Camaro and finally put one on hers too. No more issues and it has worked perfectly ever since.

I used a SW555 been good for 7+ years comes on right at 210 per my aftermarket temp gauge and 211 per my IR gun.

I instantly new fan control sensor. Drivers side under exhaust manifold. Single wire. Temp gauge stopped working? I thought temp gauge worked of 2 wire sensor on intake next to thermostat housing. I am not one for coincidences. Any ideas?

Not really a coincidence... see my signature. 
Temp gauge sending unit (not really a "sensor") is between the #1 & #3 spark plugs. Sounds like you disabled it by putting your other thing there.
Factory fan switch location is the same hole in the other head; between #6 & #8 spark plugs. I'd suggest putting the temp gauge sending unit back and hooking its wire (dk grn) back up; and putting your fan control thing over on the other side.
The 2-wire sensor (this one really IS a "sensor") is for the ECM. Not related to gauge function.
