Cooling fan.

I bought a 91 swapped to 350 formula along with the engine swap it has an aftermarket radiator and coolant fan setup, theres a thick black wire not connected to anything coming from the fan that when plugged directly into the positive side of the battery turns on the cooling fan after a little bit of searching it looks like I still have all my fan relays and such but I cant figure out where that black wire is supposed to be wired to any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.
