Looking for "liquid" or lower AC line from condencer to evap?

Looking for "liquid" or lower AC line from condenser to evap in firewall?

For a 1987 Trans Am. LS Swapped. Got all new parts and ready to install. Old stuff was removed and ruined years ago. Now, putting things back in. Gonna use Ls1 Compressor and will likely get hawks for the "hoses".

But I cant find the hardline. Last piece I'm missing. Its no longer made or in stock anywhere. Out of production. Any help would be great. Thank you!!

I have to do this to a new car I got. AC condenser and hardlines were removed. What parts have you bought so far and what compressor did you get. Im ls swapped and want to put ac back into this car. How are you going to wire it up?

Off topic to the original question, but The 98-02 F lineset bolts as a unit together to the back of the compressor. Others (including my 5.3 GMT900 1/2 ton) have the discharge hose bolted separately to the side of the compressor. The discharge hose is a breeze to replace because of this; ask me how I know in this 115deg. heat. I would go to the extra effort to make the vehicle easier to service by going with a side discharge compressor. They were also used in 5th gen.Yes, I know most want "bolt on" without further work.

I've seen both available new.

There are two types, the straight pipe type from i think 82-88 and and this newer 89-91 unit,.

82-88 Camaro/Firebird A/C Liquid Line | Original Air Group

you need the newer evaporators for the newer though but the ac line is much easier to access the ports.

89-91 Camaro/Firebird A/C Liquid Line | Original Air Group

Good info. So i ended up getting a "used" one from Brett's. Guy on facebook who sells parts. Would like a new one considering what's riding on the line here, but dang. Gotta do what we gotta do.

Ok wait. YOU are onto something here. I've seen compressors with the connections of the side. That's cool. That would make the situation with 4th gen manifolds getting in the way of the connection/hose right? What compressor would we need? From what year, make and model? Horrible for me cause I have a brand new and a back up used "LS1" Compressor. Would it still bold up to the 4th gen bracketry?

Brett's cool, I bought from him before. He's also the guy on the classifieds that has the "I've parted 40 cars" and he also sells on ebay. Honest guy and I always turn to him if needed.

Luckily the pipe isn't something that normally goes bad unless it gets physically damaged. or cross threaded.

NAPA may have one... it has been YEARS but i bought one for my 89 from them thinking a new one would be better... I still have the old somewhere.... The nut on the evap side though has rusted badly for whatever reason so its not made of aluminum like the original units I guess. Its not functionally destroyed yet and works fine....but it just looks ugly... i'm not sure if they still have these though... this was like back in 2003.

the ones from the link I had looked more thicker / durable, but the NAPA one looked like OE except the nut looked a bit different.

the AMOUNT of scammers on any FB group is cray!

Side note... a lot of scammers use brett's older pictuees,. he has those square tiles of his house floor that are like, I think kinda multi colored / brownish / light frays / whites etc... Now i think he watermarks the pics or just posts info and what not.

So beware of those

yes it is. Anytime you mention looking for a part, they come in like vultures. It's always some weird sounding name too so it's pretty obvious.
