1227730 same for 8,6,4 cyls?

Hello everyone

I am new to FI and have a newbie question.

Looking to multi port FI a 392ci international engine. The 1227730 ECM came in 8,6 and 4 cylinder GMs vehicle. Are they all equivalent and you program the eprom to your motor or are they calibrated differently and I should be looking for an V8 ECM to use.

Thanks

the 730 ECM will work fine with any of those engines, the number of cylinders are set in the chip.
you do need a MEMCAL from a 350 for the limp home & knock part of it. you also need a knock sensor for a 350.

the chip will need some tuning for the bigger displacement motor, read the stickies in the DYI PROM board on this site for that & good luck.
