Trying to pull the ECM...not pulling

it feels like the ECM is giving me more resistance than just velcro. Its not completely in its case. In fact, I can move it around, and even down some, but it wont fall out. heres a couple pics.

Sorry for the bad pics, best i could do.

The only connectors are on the bottom that you see so you just have to convince it to come out. You might try disconnecting the terminals plugs first. Good luck with it!

There are two 7mm bolts that holds it up there. There is a bracket that the ECM mounts to and that has the bolts. Should be perpendicular to the ECM. Remove them and pull hard, this bracket has two plastic dowels so you can only pull down until you clear the dowels then you can wiggle it out.

It looks like you just need to pull with more force. The ECM is clear of the retaining ledge. It should pull straight down and out. Maybe it is hung up on something up top.

my ECM actually had a threaded plastic stud that was under the dash pad holding it in, fortunately the previous owner broke it of...

Problem was found later that day. Part of the bracket was holding it up. Thanks.
