Any point to use a crank trigger with a gen7 w/Dual sync ??

Basically have a gen 7 DFI with an accel dual sync distributor. The distributor has crapped out on me once. apparently it was an unrevised unit and suposedly there have been 6-10 revisions on the dual syncs.

Long story short they said they repaired it and replaced all parts, looked inside it was the same unit and didnt work. So i borrowed a shoppe dual sync. car ran for a while and the engine siezed up. Probably mechanical I dont thinkthe dual sync caused any issues but my builder seems to want to blame the accel dual sync for not being accurate and perhaps misfiring etc.

To get the most accurate timing, does it make sense to run a crank trigger setup with the gen7 ? Is it even possible?
