Re: Performance chips
Advance your timing from stock 0* to around 6-10*. Install a lower temp fan switch in the passenger side head. Install either a 160 or 180* thermostat. Save lots of money and get the same benefit of a "performance chip" mail order or over the internet.
However, only with a custom chip can you get rid of the TBI speed limiter at 110 MPH. (yes you can do the "cut the VSS signal with a switch" mod as described in the tech articles but that's not the "right" way to do it.)

But I plan to go 4* above stock. I have a Stage 2 Stewart Pump, 180 Stat, Royal Purple Coolant Additive and 2300CFM Electric fan with 185on and 170off switch. I think Im good to go.
This should also help me pass emissions as some have even stated and showed (graphs but cant find) more power, more torque (really only thing that matters), and improved gas mileage as well as lowered emissions as this will help burn the fuel as well.
Correct kris or am I trailing off?

Re: Performance chips
Getting a chip adapter, burner and a laptop to DIY it is the best way in the long run.

Re: Performance chips
Well, I have only driven it 3 miles since I bought it in 2006. So I might not have had much experience with the problem.
Thanks for letting me know the symptoms though. A lot of my camaro will be new for 09, and 3 years well worth it.
