Re: Want to start data logging

Your going to need a software program 3 or 4 out there.
I use Tuner pro RT.

Cable, Quite a few places out there to get one.

I use hardware from Moates, has everything you need to get started.
Plus he is more than willing to help you out if you need help.
I like vendors like that.

Use the (Search feature) to find all the info you need.

Re: Want to start data logging

I ordered a cable from ALDLcables.com and should have it by tuesday and i downloaded the software. Is there anywhere on TGO that explains how to interperet all the data and what should be doing what and what shouldn't be doing what. Or is the data log info the same as if you were gonna PROM burn? Thanks.

Re: Want to start data logging

This is where have to go back to school, sorta of.
Come to think about it, not sorta
Best advice I can think of is go to the DIY Prom board and start going
thru all the threads pertaining to the questions you need addressed.

Get everything set up first so you can log.
Use the search feature.
At the top of the board read all the stickies posted there.

Well i have been reading alot about this tuning but now i can't get my laptop to work with the ECM. the program says the cable is connected but when i click the record button on tuner pro is says there is a problem with data logging. also no information comes up on the screen once i start the car. Not sure if i'm doing something wrong or what. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Re: Want to start data logging

You must first create (name) a log file. And then you can choose it.

Re: Want to start data logging

Ok i created the log file. But it seems as if the computer is not linking up to the ECM. but tuner pro says the hardware was detected. Could there be a problem from the ALDL connector to the ECM?

Re: Want to start data logging

yes i got it to work now but the numbers coming up make no sense. Also, is the PROM ID supposed to continually change? that doesn't seem right.
