93 cavalier rs 3.1 EPROM

info:
1993 Chevrolet Cavalier RS Convertable V6-191 3.1L

The car started sputtering out so i took it to the shop the mechanic said
the car needed new IGN mod, coil packs,EPROM.total was going to be about
$900.00.
I Replaced all above personaly and saved about $500.00
I then Used a ALDL cable (OB1) and freescan (software) to reset the IAC
The car ran Great with no problems. so i thought.
The Problem:
when i reset the IAC car runs great ,shut the car off for 10 min. cars ok so on and so on, IF i shut the car off and let it sit for about a hour then restart it starts running with high idle and erratic.
I then replaced the IAC Valve, cleaned the TB and Reset the IAC with freescan. Samething happend again.
Any Idea whats going on???
I did buy the EPROM from the mechanic i hope its the right one he sold me
on the box the white sticker states
SER.NO.01227730
86BAUA
320032953
The part he sold me is:
Acdelco1#16190129
On the eprom :BFAF 16190129
DID HE sell me the right one?????

Uhhh, what?

I've never heard of a MEMCAL or PROM needing to be replaced.

Both MEMCALs come up as 1992 3.1L Auto.

I know some here will disagree with me, but in all the years I screwed around with J-bodies, I never needed to do tha "idle re-learn." I only ever had one car, that after installing a stero in (occupation at the time), needed to idle for about 20 minutes before it would settle into idling on it's own on the next start, didn't do the "idle re-learn procedure" and it ran fine afterwards.

So basically what I'm saying is just drive it. It will settle in.

in A1, there are limiter values that only allow the IAC minimum value to be changed so far(positive and negative) in one engine cycle, you may need to go through a few drive cycles before it gets to be where it should.

after determining and applying a much more realistic IAC minimum value on initial powerup of ~25 counts compared to 8 or so in the stock PROM, i've never needed to do an idle relearn after cutting power to the ECM.
