Tuning Company in Penn?

I live in IL and I need to get a tune for my car asap. It has a 383 in it and no shops around me will touch my car. The shop who built my engine said they heard of someone in Pennsylvania who tunes the computer really good and has had success with other customers with builds similiar to mine. Anyone heard of this?

Do you have any interest in buying the chip burner and downloading tunerpro RT and learning yourself, with possible help thru emailing log files and tunes? I've done that for a few ppl with good success. IL is abit far to come out and try tuning it. It would take several iterations to get everything right.

I do and I dont. I have already gone through one engine blowing up (not my fault shop) and I rather have someone who knows this stuff more than me do it.

Re: Tuning Company in Penn?

Are you having a problem with the way the car runs? Lots of guys run a 383 on the stock chip/tune. MAF can handle overbore pretty well and the computer can learn also. If you have driveability problems then tuning makes lots of sense. Each car and engine is so very different, that's why long distance tuning is almost impossible as Orr89Rocz states.

Do you have a wideband o2 sensor on it? Plugs after cruise look dark/black?

No 02 Sensor, is in open loop. Plugs are black after running.

Re: Tuning Company in Penn?

Next year I want to rebuild my engine and maybe add a turbo or procharger. I don't trust anyone to work on my car so I've been doing everything myself. It takes longer, but I trust ME. I've got the EBL Flash w/Port Mod Option. I am completely new to tuning and have been learning on go here. I've had a few rookie mistakes getting started but I'm running good now. The guy who makes them is very helpful. Not trying to plug a product, but I could only find one local guy who specialized in Camaro's and Corvette's. And it was an 8 week waiting list to get him to do it. You can tune your car in a weekend on your own.

Re: Tuning Company in Penn?

Kinda need an o2 to tune effectively. Either narrow band but preferably wideband. Open loop tunes generally are rich in stock settings but shouldnt be that rich at cruise with mass airflow. Unless injectors arent matching whats in the bin file

They are matching. The car does idle a lot and only have 50miles on engine. O2 sensor is bought and waiting to be put in.

Re: Tuning Company in Penn?

Just did a "383" in my 92 Firebird convertible.
I'm using a "FIRST TPI" fuel injection unit.
For fuel managment I went with an EBL 730 based ECM.
It is a learning experience but I feel it is worth it - to be able to "flash" in tuning parameters directly by laptop.
Dynamic EFI is located in Pennsylvania.
Good luck with your project.
