Built a 357 ci..500 lift on int. and .ex 218 and 228 dur. at .050 112 ls 4 deg. built in adv.stock heads ,flattop pist.roller cam and roller rockers ,ground down tbi body.adj fpr,cop car injectors running 14 lbs fuel press. All new sensors.
Unit ran fair when I first fired up but got worse .now it has zero power and won't idle but revs in neu. great.Burnning a lot of fuel.data logged with winaldl but blm won't chang.runs much better when running data on laptop then when I unplug it.gets a high map and 02 sensor code.running a 7747 ecm.

 

Most likely the ALDL cable is placing a 10K resistor between A & B on the ALDL connector. This changes how the ECM runs, and is not required to data log a '7747 ECM.

You have a lot of tuning to do to get that engine to run right.

Don't mind the long term running that is to come.one of the big problems is nothing wants to run on windows 7 or vista or if it does it won't work with the 160 baud.I have spent the last month or more fighting with software just to start data logging.still not working right.I am thinking it may be time to upgrade on hardware for tunning.possible emulating or flash burn.just not sure what rout to go.would consider carb but this is a rockcrawler and needs fi. for the angles.Any suggestion on possibly routs to look into for researching would be appreciated.

I don't know what 'Nothing" is? But everything tuning related works on WIndows 7, including data from 160 baud.

What software and cables are you using?

Tried running tunerpro rt but can not convert a ads deff. file to the adx. file.used the steps on moates sight but when directed to select + by command it did not work.Bob at aldlcables directed me to use winaldl software but had a hard time getting it to datalog.went threw compatibility and loaded with xp. and load with adminastrator and got datalogging going.My blm stay on 128 and never change.and I'm not sure what lean/rich counter is but it does change.looking at moats oestereach2 and burn2 with 28 pin adaptor but I still need to get tunerpro running.

You have a common USB problem, just need to find which comm port the cable is on and set it up in TunerPro, Tools, Preferences, Datalog and Acquisition, Use Plug in and Configure. Sometimes this is a nuisance and requires a restart etc... have cable plugged in, restart, find comm port, open TP and configure. Then plug into vehicle and click connect.

Many people including my self have had issues connecting to TunerPro with WinALDL installed... shouldn't happen but it has.

If BLM never changes it is probably not closed loop. All this can be seen in TunerPro files from above.

 

found my timing was not being advanced from base timing of 4 deg.worked on that and got my timing working again,this helped tremendously.it is now running to where maybe i could tune.I will look back to tunerproand try to get up and running.thanks for all the input.Moats is closed all week for Thanksgiving so I will order ostrich2 and burner2 monday after.The o2 sensor is not operating,it is brand new but in the collector.may need to get a heatd one to go into closed loop to bring on my blm.Engine still using a lot of gas.The computer I got from the donor vehicle had a TBICHIPS.prom in it,hot and auto was written on it,I dont know what that may be doing.and as far as the EBL goes I have four vehicles with TBI in them and would like to be able to fool around with them also.

 

The chip may be Open Loop idle too...

 

gearhead was a big help thanks for that sight.I was able to pull up the dash on tunerpro(very nice system)and was able to go into the bin and look around,but i did not see any streaming raw data like on winaldl.will try to datalog tomorrow.

 

I have not been able to get any information or a dash to come up on TP today,went back and checked bin file,xdf file, and deff. file and they seem ok.I went in to xdf edit and tried to bring up dash but had no luck.after connecting cable I can start data flow on top bar,it then shows DA connected and has around 88 hertz that comes up beside that.It will allow me to log data and save file but i get nothing on the file,at least it says its logging.gone back to Gearhead efi but can not find an answer
