Need help guys!!

so i need some help, hopefully you guys can guide me to the right direction.

new to forums, so i would need all the help i can possibly get.

not even sure if i posted it in the right page..

So i just bought a 1991 chevy camaro Rs.
the car was left at a autobody shop cause the guy couldnt pay up for the maroon paintjob they did for it, the owner of the bodyshop told me he had upgraded the motor to a 350 crate engine, its t.b.i i can snap pictures later since im at work.
The problem i ran into is that the computer under the dash of the passenger side was removed from the original owner and some 18inch iroc wheels he had...
i was told the car ran when he had brought it into the bodyshop, but since he removed it it no longer turns on...

My question now is how do i know what computer to install? since i dont even know exactly what engine is on there? plz help me out im new to all this and would love to get my camaro running soon i have cash so its mainly finding someone who can guide to the right steps. thanks

Re: Need help guys!!

the ecm you need is a 1228746, you can identify the engine on the block on the drivers rear side you will find the casting number or the suffix is on the block pad on the front of the block on the passenger side. If this is a 350 you will need 55#hr injectors and the broadcast code anlu eprom gm 16125368.

Re: Need help guys!!

It's the 18" wheels. With those installed the ECM's wheel install program kicks in and won't allow the engine to run. Seriously, seen this a bunch of times. Only way out is to install standard wheels & tires.

Having those wheels installed also causes the ECM to jump out of and run away from the car. Without an ECM the engine won't run. That is the issue.

Not sure what else to say...

RBob.

P.S. all of the above is a gag. You need to have an ECM in place ('8746) for the engine to run. Not knowing which crate engine was installed, a stock calibration may or may not be OK. But get it up and running first, then go from there.
