Accel DFi 77022L help

Hey guys, being Sunday and Mr. Gasket being closed today i hope someone can help me get a warm fuzzy feeling.

I just bought what i thought was an Accel 77022 ECM and harness which turned out to be an Accel 77022L (LT1 ECM) and harness .. Can i use this thing on a 305, 350, 383?? i have a 305 but swapping in a an extremely modded 383 in near future.. just going to learn the tuning on the 5.0 in case i smoke it. if i can make it work what would i need? besides the LT1..

Also a 1200 cfm throttle body was purchased at the same time. No Stamps or numbers but after measuring the throttle body bore it measures 1.68" Which i think makes it a 750cfm..Can anyone confim my thoughts on this?

thanks

You can use that, however I think you might hit a hurdle on the ignition harness side. What are you running for a dist?

Got any pics?
Yes that harness only differs on the ignition side. Otherwise it should work fine.
I'm an Accel EMIC, let me know if I can help.

Re: Accel DFi 77022L help

Thanks for the help guys.
As far as the research i have done the DFI is engine specific since its a Accel 77022L(LT1) Software Version 1.2. i believe it is an early model. Accel told me i need to send it in for the upgrade to GEN7+ Software. Since it is programmed for the Opti Spark(Front Dist Optical Sensor)). I dunno maybe i am getting the run around for an upgrade. I will be running a HEI Dist.

That is an early version, but in the calmap software you can go into configuration-system and change the ignition type. No upgrade needed. Who did you talk to at Accel?

Re: Accel DFi 77022L help

I didn't get the techs name but for confirmation (a little trick i learnt over the years because sometimes we get conflicting info) is i will call and talk and wife will call and talk. we both got the same answer. "to send it in for the upgrade." Maybe thats the first line on the sheet they were reading..LOL
I called accel because they are just up the road here in ohio or i might have tried an emic for info. I have already sent it in, $75 handling fee, also according to wifes tech they test it if it's good. my tech never told me that it gets tested I must have gotten him before he had his coffee. Called at 0830 think i was dialing at 0829. My tech was a younger guy don't know how many that work in that department.

I downloaded the latest calmap from prestolite just getting it ready. I wont be tuning anytime soon (i'm sure i'll need help). i really needed the intake to get my engine done and back from the builder.

Again thanks for your help. If you got more info to share just let me know.
