Swapping dash harness and vats question (in urgent need of help)

I'm in the middle of an analog to digital dash swap and my car came with VATS equipped with the analog harness. This digital dash harness I got was from an 88 with no vats option. What I'm wondering is if everything will still work normally if I'm using a non vats harness on an originally vats car with the chip in the key and wiring on the steering column. Would I be able to leave the orange vats wire on the ignition tumbler unplugged since there is no vats module? and would I have to get a prom for my ecm that disables vats? thanks!

The 89 memcal it programed with vats , you need to have the vats module to send a hz frequency to the ecm, or a modulator or I offer reprograming in the classified section.

Would the hawks vats bypass module work? how much does your reprogramming service cost?

To reprogram your memcal I charge $55, there are several units out there that will work The ecm expects to see a 30hz signal.

Baker electronics, several on ebay, painless wiring they all do the same thing.

Thanks for the reply! For that module on ebay I think I get how to hook it up. white wire to blue wire on the ecm then red wire to 12V and black to ground? if that bypasses the ecm don't I still have to deal with the orange vats wire on the steering column that detects the key chip because there's no plug to go into it since this harness didn't come with vats? I think this module is the route that I'll take since I'm on a slight budget at the moment but I'll definitely be needing your reprogramming services in the near future when I want to tweak everything.

The bypass module I posed the red wire goes to a ignition switched power its a small amp draw so you could hook it to your radios switched power or the ecms switch power pin a6 of your ecm a pink/blk wire the black wire is ground . The vats is a blue wire pin b6 of your ecm to the module output wire.

Np, seems like a real good solution and the price is right.
