Service Engine Light
The service engine light comes on in my car, when its on the car seems to loose power and won't accelerate hard like it usually does. My problem is I tried to hook into the port to read the code and it doesn't seem to want to communicate, any ideas? Car has a ZZ4 crate enging, holley stealth ram intake and custom tune. Thanks in advance.

I assume you have a 1227165 ecm ? Wen you say hook to it do you mean with a scanner or aldl to USB cable ? have you tried jumping the a to b at the aldl ? the 165 requires 10k across a to b to start data flow with a scanner/ dataloging software.

Sorry, I used a scanner, didn't want to communicate with it. I am going to try the piece of wire now to see if I can pull a code...

Re: Service Engine Light
From researching this site i'm showing:
Code 33 - High voltage (low vacuum) at mass air flow sensor (or MAP sensor)
Code 36 - Burn off at mass air flow sensor OR Problem in transmission shift OR Fault in direct ignition system OR Missing pulses in electronic spark timing signal
Symptoms again are when engine is not under load while driving (no pressure on gas pedal) car will hesitate, spit and sputter. Car will not accelerate hard but under slow acceleration it will get up to normal highway speeds.
Since both codes list the MAF i'm thinking I would start replacing it and go from there, anyone else with other suggestions/thoughts?

Re: Service Engine Light
Go through the trouble trees for maf High and the burn off relay feedback failure.

Re: Service Engine Light
Yes I did actually, it was the MAF, it was the original to the car and when I had gone to get the car tuned the guy took out the screens for 'better' airflow, put the new one in and no issues since! Thanks for all the suggestions guys, much appreciated.
