Re: i know nothing about prom burning... few questions
It really depends on what you've done to the engine and whatnot
What has been done to it?
I know its daunting to think about because I am swapping in a new intake and Didn't realize how much was going to go into getting a PROM burnt
Nearest place to me charges $450+ for a tuning session.

Not much just exhaust and an open filter... its a 305tbi. So don't really want to waste money on a build but I was thinking if I got a chip I could get a little bit more ***** out of it lol

if you are serious and want someone else to do it
Tuned Performance is the go to guy for buying a chip that isn't just an off the shelf POS(stay far away from "Performance Chips" you can buy over the counter)
I have never personally bought from Tuned, but he gives great advice and the reviews on his chips are always phenomenal

IF you are serious about learning how to tune your own car
Moates is the man to buy equipment from, i have purchased equipment from him, and can vouch he runs a great business and really wants to help his customers
and there are plenty of tuning vet's on this site that will guide you through the learning process so long as you cooperate and put forth the effort to learn

And the money you spend could be better spent elsewhere
I am installing a Stealth Ram at the moment so I need to find someone to tune for me or attempt to learn it myself.

On a stock engine there is really nothing to be gained, just minor tcc lockup add alittle more timing and delete the egr function and error code 32. Is it worth the money now to spend on tuning. I would say no . When you do a cam swap, or if you go to a 350 for sure hands down. You should read this thread a lot applies to tbi as well. The ignorance of the late 80's sure made some money for jets, hypertech, ads super chips ect..

Alright ahha thanks for the advice I was going to do a cam swap and the works but after some research I figured I mine as well wait till I swap it and build on a better platform then the 305
Re: i know nothing about prom burning... few questions
Reason I ask about emissions testing is that if you change some parameters of the tune you could end up failing....Also the stock GM tune is optimized to protect the cat converter from damage as well as reduce emissions....
I too have no testing but if I was I would fail misrerably I presume. visual and at pipe.
