Wiring harness removal from passenger fender well?
Howdy,
so in preparation of anticipated media blasting and paint of the engine bay I am trying to remove the harness. The driver’s side was a snap however I’m having an issue trying to remove the harness where it runs down the passenger fender. It’s a convertible so there’s an extra support bracket blocking the interior side. Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated!

Re: Wiring harness removal from passenger fender well?
When I removed my power antennae a few years ago for rebuilding, I found a little rust starting under that electrical pass-through. I wanted to remove it to get to the metal underneath.
I had assumed it was a bulkhead connector, and could be split in half. But it is not. It's pimply a fixed part of the harness that can be secured to the body. On the inside, there is a horseshoe shaped clip that is wedged into a groove around the perimeter of that plastic block. The harness is installed form the outside in. When you remove that clip, the plastic block and harness can be passed to the outside of the body. But of course, the wiring itself will still be intact.
This is the clip. It lifts UP to remove it.
