Determining ECU number

Hi Guys,

Im from South Africa and have come across a 1985 Z28 Camaro IROC-Z with only 4014 original owner miles on the clock. the car has been sitting for quite some time. i have noticed that the ECU is missing apart from a windscreen, new lock set i need the original ECU. how do i go about sourcing the correct one for this car?

If your tpi it’s a 1226870. You can find on eBay.

You can look at the prom to see if it’s for a 305 automatic

There is another thing you might need. That is the maf relays. They are in a separate box that piggybacks on the ecm.

correct, you could always buy a 1227165 ecm and repin and convert yours to a faster baud rate ecm.

collecting the car on saturday so i will then see what else is missing and let you know. Can i not go through you for an ECU and whatever else is needed?

Unfortunately I do t have the ecm or burn off module.
you should signup for eBay or post in the classifieds wanted section on this site.
