Any of the pros seen this?

With all theorys and wives tales aside...

Have any of you established pro's (you know who you are ) seen solid lifter (whether flat tappet or roller) be a source of knock counts?

And purely out of curriosity, how about pete jackson noisy gears?

Yes, and no.
I've had a solid cam play hell with the K/S, and yet my noisy roller lifter setup doesn't.

With the newer ramps the cam guys are using, there really isn't any advantage to the solids. You can make a solid lifter lighter then a hydralic, thou.

It's all about frequencies, and amplitude.

Appreciate the response grumpy..

There comes a point in modding where you run out of things and need the next step, although not there yet I'm leaning very heavily towards a solid roller cam in the 385, but I dont want to shoot myself in the foot with false knock. I'd like the advantage of being able to rev it the way the LT1 intake wants and not being to concerned with float, also the heavier ramps are mighty appealing however 'advanced' the hydraulic rollers may be now.

Is your solid setup roller or flat?

Does decreasing lash at all help? Or are you kinda stuck with what the G0Ds give you?

All 400's unless remachined (usually aftermarket cranks) are externally balanced. What is it that caused your false knock? Simply you didn't have a K/S tuned for a 400? Out of balance? or is it solid?
