Has this ever happened to anyone?

I'm burning chips for a friend with a 89 Formula 350. No matter what I change when programming a prom, the ignition advance will spike to almost 90 degrees(and go to maximum retard, respectively), but only when the car is moving, and it downshifts at WOT. From a standstill and at lower speeds, it does not do this. I burned chips for my brother's heavily modified 88 Iroc hundreds of times before this, and it started doing it with his car just before we switched to DFI 7. I assumed it was his car, but apparently not. Anyone have any ideas? I could just take the stock BIN and re-burn it without any changes, and it still does it. Using a brand new EPROM does it matter, either.

Since no ones built a ecm bench for the 165s hard to tell, but it might be a by product of the MAF dropping out.

accually the ,maf is maxing out at 4200 and leaning out. We tried correcting it and adding more fuel all the way up to 5600 rpm and man there was a seat in the pance differance there.

If you could possibly detail what is needed/involved in setting one up I might be interested in giving it a whack.
I looked at some pictures and documentation (very little of the latter) someone had put up, showed their test bench. It looked to take up half of a good sized room and the wiring looked like a spagetti factory exploded all over their workbench. Something more compact, like what you had posted pics of would be more what I am interested in, I have enough mess around here to deal with.

P.S. feel free to PM or e mail me the info if you don't want to get into a big board discussion by posting it here.

If the one you saw is the one I am thinking of, they had different goals in
mind. This other one can handle different ECM types ('747 & '730). It also has banks
of injectors for load and durability testing of both the injectors
and ECM drivers. Probably the first hobby ECM bench ever built.

When I built the one pictured above it was designed for code work. The
injectors are two LEDS. It is also portable so it can be put out of the way
when not needed. It has been indispensible in aiding code development
and anaylsis.
