ALDL Communication Help

I have installed WINALDL on my laptop and assembled the cable
according to instructions found on this website. I can not get readings from my ecm. The car is a 91 RS camaro with 305. Any ideas would help.

Thanks.

Mate, this is truly a case of the blonde leading the blonde (and I'm more like grey!) but seeing as how you're not getting much response, here goes.

I built the 1 transistor, 160 baud interface recently and loaded winaldl. I didn't get any response except something like "Com1 not available" (later fixed when I switched off a conflicting program).

Once winaldl could use Com1, I set it to 2400 baud and "Hardware" in the "Device Manager" (I think) section of "Control Panel" (Xon/Xoff and whatever the other option was didn't work).

Try this and see what happens.

John
