Yes, but why? As leirch said, it's a good fail safe.

Yes its a great fail safe, but its one thats always in my way.
I have to tis the connector back to not get burned on my headers .
Also Ive had a rash of bad luck with torque converters first and now my engine is coming back out for the third time in a year .
im converting to a 406 and was not sure if its drilled there.
I dont really sweat it anyway,my eyes are always pegged on guages .do to my recent luck Im alway paranoid something is going.

Hmm....my motor currently isn't reading oil temperature. Is the sensor next to the filter for temperature and the one behind the intake for pressure? My oil pressure gauge shows pressure, but my oil temp (on Auto X Ray) shows something like -48 degrees for oil temperature.
Not trying to steal this thread, just curious which sensor is pressure and which is temperature.

The one behind the intake is for pressure. The one at the filter is a backup for the fuel pump relay. If the fuel pump relay dies while the car is running, It will supply power to the fuel pump and the MAF relay to keep the car running. To test it, start the car and pull the fuel pressure relay out and the car will continue to run. Shut the car off and it will not restart until you put the fuel pressure relay back in.

Just because your scanner has a readout for it don't mean it's actualy there. I have a Snap-On scanner and an OTC Genisys and I don't recall ever seeing an oil temp readout for a 7730 on either of them. But the Genisys will display non existing parameters on alot of different cars with a value of N/A.

Great... I stripped out the 1/4" square channel plug on my 'new' block at that port, so I'll be going without this sensor. Hopefully I'll survive a splice or two. If the oil pressure chokes, I have other issues at hand...
Don't splice the sensor wires together. Just zip-tie them out of the way or clip them out of the harness. Hooking them together will run the fuel pump and energize the MAF relay at all times.
What it does is, the orange wire goes to power (+), the tan/white wire goes to the fuel pump (+), MAF energize (+), the ECM fuel pump signal (B2) and the fuel pump relay N/C which goes to your ALDL connector terminal G.
So hooking the wires together does the same thing as hooking power to the ALDL connector "G".

I do this after I change fuel filters and stuff like that.

What's that other sensor right near there? I'm putting one back together and forgot what goes where, but there's a hole... The one just above the oil pressure switch...
