I plan on pulling the bin out of my stock computer tomorrow - 1989 305 TPI w/ 5-speed.

I need to change the injector constant and disable the EGR.

I'm going to use Mangus's GMECM Edit software.

Which .ecu is the correct one for my car?

I don't want to flub this up so any helpful advice you have to offer would be appreciated.

I'm running a 355ci with a SuperRam and a XE282HR cam.
Is anyone else running a similar set-up?
Care to share any tuning tips?

24 views and no one can tell me where to find the correct ECU for my car?

Am I the only 1989 305TPI w/5-speed owner out there?!

Maybe if you have a big fit about 24 people not posting others will jump right in.

BTW, you never said what ECM you have. That's kinda important when it comes to selecting the right ECU. I'm guessing you have the '165, but I don't know F-bodies as well as I do M-bodies.

Pop that cherry baby! Not like you're going to get her knocked up....

Oh....oh!

Your ECU file is the 6E. Get after it... Should be available in gangbusters...

If you could just...

...that would be great...

That'd be my second question . . . where can I find a 6E ecu file?

Work with me guys! This **** is intimidating enough right now.

You might want to skip over your prom, and pick up a APYP..

The "hot" one might detonate, the cold one might not.

Thanks for the help guys!

Anetheses - that APYP bin is for the '89 Vette right?

Can I just burn that to a chip and go or do I need to do any changes to get it to work with my Camaro?

Yeah.. Check it out. Might run well, might not. But thats what tuning is all about.

I burned your APYP-cold bin today and took my car for a run!

OMG what a difference!

It idles! NO surging!
It pulls! No hesitation at all!

I need to reset the timing and fuel pressure now that the computer realizes I have 24 lb injectors and not 19s.

Thank you Anetheses! You've given me hope!!

Hey,

Well I'm glad. Keep in mind, you'll still wanna check different things but. That bin is a good starting point though. Just check your knock counts.

Good luck!

I'm just SO happy with it right now!

Thanks Joe! SERIOUSLY!

WOW!

Totally different car . . .

What is the HOT bin like?

How crazy? What is it set-up for - in other words what have you used that bin in?

The timing on the HOT bin might be a bit too extreme. You can try it, but again. WATCH YOUR KNOCK.. I don't wanna hear if it you grenade your motor.
