Software ECM test bench
Has anyone ever tried to make a software test bench? What I mean by this is emulating the ECM with software. Instead of building a test bench you could just run a computer program, plug in different numbers for different sensors and see what effect it does.

Or develope an actual torque sensing devise, and just just some software to auto tune the car real time for the Torque load, vs TPS.
Maybe just key in dyno results, and BSFC and Torque numbers and have a bin generated?.
BTW, they've all been done are in use by the oems.
Rough estimate I heard on the one package was $1.5M.
Also takes a super computer to run the programs.
Or so the rumor goes

What the hell are you talking about? I'm sure it's sarcastic in nature, but I don't even see how it applies! The original question has nothing to do with automatic bin making/adjusting - it was about a software ECM bench vs a hardware one. I know you're a very experienced guy here so I'm quite surprised - did you even read the original question?

Just makes sense to me.
