Question Reguarding Romulator and Serial Port
Question Reguarding Romulator and Serial Port
Hello,
What are you guys doing for serial connection? Can you use a USB adapter on either scanning software or romulator (TTS DATAMASTER) and not run into any software conflicts?
seems like a fatal flaw, you get real changes but lose datalog

No One around here even carries a USB to 9 pin serial thou....
I have used USB to serial adapters for both winALDL and Romulator, but not both at the same time (yet). I am running windows XP.
Is Turbolink a windows program or dos? If dos, I don't know if it will work or not, but if you are running it in a dos window on windows XP, I would expect that it would.
R_T definately works with USB to serial on XP.
You can get USB to serial adapters on Ebay for $15-$20 including shipping. I now have three (one for winALDL, one for R_T, and one for wideband O2).

Do you happen to have any parts no.s?.
One guy mentioned a PalmPilot adapter but it costs like $30.
Anyone have any real part nos. and store?.
TIA
If you don't mind ebay,

Watch out for the shipping/handling charges, they are often more than the price of the item. I bought a USB to serial for $0.01 once, and paid $6.95 for shipping. Heck of a deal.

Found a radio shack 26-183, USB to 9 pn serial adapter, today.
$40, but now I can use the Romulator with the USB port now. Well, at least all seems to read correctly on the ecm bench.
Whew.
Now with Turbolink, I can have a virtual dash, data logging, and R_T all in one laptop.
