Romulator and USB

If your using a Romulator and the Radio Shack USB converter, and try loading a new bin with the ecm on, it might lock up.

Just turn the ecm off.
Unplug the USB connector.
Wait a few seconds.

Then try reloading the .bin file with the ecm off.

What version of USB is that? I dont know if it makes a difference, but USB v2.0 is supposed to be alot faster than v1.0.

It's a hardware specification. V2.0 operates at a faster "baud" rate, probably lots of other new features too that I haven't read about yet.

If you want to you can read about it @ www.usb.org. The developers section of usb.org and the FAQ get pretty technical. There is also an overview at Intel's Website with a spec sheet. At first I was thinking maybe the Romulator crashes/freezes because the USB v1.0 connection is too slow (low baud). But after reading about USB I dont think thats the case. Whats the bandwidth (baud) of the ALDL cable that works good? Maybe it might have something to do with how the USB transfers data? Like maybe in bursts instead of constant? I dunno enough about it to really say.

I doubt it has anything to do with USB v1.0. USB v1.0 is still much faster then your serial port so there should be no problems speed wise using a USB to serial adapter.

Dunno about winaldl, but I can run Diacom or Turbolink with the Romulator.

Dell CPx, I'm not sure of the processor's speed.
