Ford SVO injectors
I am finally getting ready to burn my own chips and had a question about the ford injectors. Since they are rated at a different ohm, do you still program tunercat for the lb. they are listed or will i need to treat them like they are larger/smaller than the rated lb.?
Thanks
Tim

It's not they are "rated at a different ohm" that is relevant, but they are rated at a lower fuel pressure than the injectors in the binary that you're using.
The injector flow difference from one fuel pressure to another is proportional to the square root of ratio of the pressures.
So if you quadrupled your fuel pressure (x4) you'd double the flow through the injectors (x2= SQRT(4)).

Hey Ringmaster
Hey Ringmaster72 how is it going with learning how to burn your own chips. I have a 355 tpi with World Sportman II heads, ZZ9 camshaft, Ford 24# injectors, 1-3/4 SLP headers, forged crank, 4 bolt main, and pink connecting rods and trw pistons. I am still running on the stock chip. It is a little chunky, but nothing that makes it undriveable. This winter I plan to get more aquainted with what is involved with burning and programming my own chips. Do you have any suggestions or roadblocks that you have hit??

Car: Depends on what day it is..
Engine: Um, Chevy small-block
Transmission: One that shifts
Axle/Gears: Got those too...
Scorp508 is right...
SVO injectors are flow rated at 38 psi, GM at 43 psi. They function the same, just need to properly compensate for them in the bin.

Northern, i have not actually burned any yet. I was going to this week, but something is wrong with my pocket programmer so i have to send it back, which sux. I think i have a basic idea of what to do, but as far as roadblocks, i think the hardest part is just getting the stuff and convincing urself to finally do it. Luckily you can always come on this site to get help. There is so much info u need to know and i cannot imagine trying it without all of the info on this site. Right now I have a chip with the arap bin and 24 lb injectors that a member here burned for me a while ago. It gets me by, but does not even begin to compensate for my mods. Good luck geting started.
