Can someone help me identify this memcal?
While cleaning up my computer room the other day I ran across a memcal and I can't remember what it's for. It's got a blue cover and a brown base. The PROM is a D27128A and has a white sticker on top that looks like this:

The side of the memcal has 68767 8747 stamped into it and there are two chips, a 16055375 and a 16055376 which I assume are the resister networks.
Basically I'm wondering if I can use this memcal to make a ZIF adapter for my '165 ECM but I don't want to destroy it until I have an idea of what it is.

I'm not trying to be argumentative but I thought the early S-10 ECM's used a "stand alone" PROM not a memcal. I'm almost positive my friend's 87 TBI 2.8 S-10 was only a PROM.
Either way can I safely use this to make a ZIF adapter for the '165 in my 88 TPI or will the resister networks be all wrong for limp home?

Nope, I wouldn't suggest it.
Thanks Grumpy...you're probably right in saying it's not safe to use as an adapter since I can't be certain of it's "identity". I'll have to ask my S-Truck driving friend when/if any of them came with memcals.

I got home from work and pulled up my Mitchell On-Demand and the ASM code does show to be from a S-Series manual trans.
However http://www.cruzers.com/~ludis/calxref.html shows the resistor chips are for a 1987 5.0L LB9 using a '165 ECM, and an archived post on diy-efi.org dated 10/01/99 seems to agree. To make matters worse Mitchell On-Demand shows a code AASM (that's close to ASM) for an 87 5.0L but it's the LG4 carbed application with a '855 ECM.
Now I'm REALLY confused!!!
I think I'm just going to put the cover back on this memcal and loose it again!
