Datalogging operational with USB AutoProm
Well, one obstace is cleared up now. The datalogging problem seems to have disappeared with the USB AutoProm and some electronic stuff Craig did for me to the new ECM. I am no longer getting packet errors. The sample rate is bouncing a lot between about 5 and 6.2 hz. At this point, I am thinking my def file is to blame. I haven't tried WinALDL yet, but I am about to do that right now. Any suggestions or flames?
Thanks...

WinALDL works. Maybe I have the port speed settings screwed up in TunerPro RT.

I'm willing to bet it was the re-solder job done to the ECM before I'd bet its the AutoProm hardware change. =)
WinALDL works at about .66 hz, right? Are you getting valid data with TunerPro?

I am getting REALLY good data with WinALDL. Solid and steady. No skips or burps. I really think my home-grown 8746 def file is to blame here. TunerPro is working fine in chip burn mode. The ALDL function isn't quite there, but a little tweaking of settings will probably set that right. I haven't tried simultaneous WinALDL logging in emulate mode yet, but that's next. I am in the process of welding up the start of my frame-mounted roll cage right now so I can mount my new seats. I'd post a pic or two, but they might be a little off-topic.

Try the following:
1) Power down the car and get TunerPro started up and set up for 160-baud datalogging and try to connect.
2) Turn the car on.
The 5-6 Hz logging is incorrect. It should come up as the correct value of 0.66Hz or so. I've got some firmware refinement that is called for in the area of 160 baud, but it should work OK. If all else fails, use the WinALDL for a little while until I have a chance to address what might just be a firmware deal.

Will do, Craig. WinALDL works great. The data flow is smooth and steady and looks to be valid.
I am just happy I can actually log data now. Now I can actually tune this damn thing.:lala:

if craig's suggestion doesn't work for non-passthrough logging, and TunerPro doesn't work on its own merits in passthrough mode, then its almost certainly your definition.

I haven't tried pass thru mode yet with TunerPro. That may be a good next step. I am willing to lay odds that my definition is screwy somewhere.
