Chip not doing what it was programmed to do

I finaly got a chip programmed that works (sort of). I have TunerPro and AutoProm. I am working with a stock 87 305 tpi auto bin and 6ev011 ecu file. The chip I burned runs the engine fine. No SES light, decent power, good idle, etc. The problem is; I programmed the chip to turn on the fan at 185*, but the fan still comes on at 227*.

This is what I did:

Minimum MPH for using fan 1 duty cycle table = 0.00 mph
MPH for Fan 1 turn on if A/C on = 0.00 mph
Minimun Fan 1 time on = 35 seconds
Fan 1 duty cycle if MPH < minimum and A/C pressure high = 99.6%
Fan 1 turn on (A/C on) = 180*
Fan 1 turn on (A/C off) = 185*
Fan 1 turn off (A/C off) = 173*

Cooling fan duty cycle vs. coolant temp *F
176* = 50% 198-306* = 99.61%

Any one have an idea where I might have taken a wrong turn?

I am still new to this. Any help would be appreciated.

How many fans do you have and how are they wired? Almost sounds like the fan you are talking about is running off a temp switch in the head.

Right there is your problem. 87 bins are not 6E.

OK, so I guess I should be using $32 ecu file?

My preference is to use 6E. It seems to drive a little better.

You'll want an '89 305 A4 bin. APYM might be one to try.

Better search on what specific bin changes are nessesary to run 6E in an 87 car. I can't remember off hand.

One physical change is to unplug the cold start injector. The $6E calibrations take care of cold starts withint eh bin, with the regular 8 port injectors.

Besides unplugging the cold start injector, IIRC there are only two bin changes needed: disabling VATS, and making sure the AC pressure switch flag matches what's physically installed on the car (i.e. normally open, or normally closed).
