Tuner Pro RT, USB AutoPROM and Win 98
Well, I think i got it working, but I haven't tried to log any data with it yet. Installing Win 98 on that ThinkPad 380XD was a PITA to say the least! It took me 6 hours to jump through all the hoops that it kept throwin up at me. It STILL doesn't like my Xircom PCMCIA modem/network card for some strange reason.
Anyway, I downloaded the riched20.dll from Mangus' site and the USB driver from Craig's site. Both are installed. Before I go and burn something up, is there ANYTHING else I am forgetting to do? I had the whole thing working fine under Win ME, but Win ME crashed HARD and I just replaced it all with Win 98SE. It seems to be much smoother now.

I've gotten the emulator stuff to work thur a USB, but none of the P4 scanner stuff so far. C3 scanner might work, I just haven't had cause to try that.

Nah, he's talking about a USB AutoProm (no converter necessary). =)
Jeepguy, you mention you're still having problems monitoring ALDL. What you should do is email Jonas and get the ALDL datastream info that he used to implement your ECM (that you're having success with). Once you have that info, you can create a def for TunerPro. I'd be interested in seeing this work for you (finally).

I just did. I also found an old page on his site that shows which datastreams he tried. It seems he tried A090, A043, and A83. Looks like I may be rewriting my ADS file this afternoon.

Okay. I heard from Jonas. He told me he used A41, A83 and A90. Now, what I am trying to figure out is how to mix them to get the right stuff at the right time. I guess this is gonna be an exercise in trial and error.

Update
Packet errors are gone IF I monitor in AutoPROM mode. I get an erratic and insanely fast sampling rate if I try it in pass through mode under MAX232. The data is still pretty much meaningless, though. An engine speed of 6225 RPM is just wrong when the engine is idling at 750rpm.
I think it may just be a matter of mix and match at this point unless someone else has already made up an ADS for the $61 ECMs.

Yo -
The three datastreams Jonas lists are all the same except for a few of the flags. So, provided you create a definition using this information (20 byte packet size, 0 everything else), you should be working.
The AutoProm fills empty bytes when there are packet errors, hence the fast sample rate. This isn't right.
I'm not certain why you're still having issues, but once again we can take it offline. Email me.

I thought there already was one on Craig's file sharing site...$58, right?
EDIT: I was wrong on two accounts...first, it is NOT $58 and second there is NOT a 7747 def on Craig's site.
